Prerequisites

  1. Google account with sufficient privileges to be able to integrate with third-party apps.

  2. Active Automate.io account.


Triggers

New Document

Description: Triggers whenever there is a new document in your Google Docs account/Drive. You may optionally specify the folder in which the Bot will look for new documents.

Data limits: 100 per poll. No pagination.

Unsupported items: Document content.

Actions

Add a Document

Description: Used to create a new document in your Google Docs account/Drive. You may optionally specify the folder in which the Bot will add the new documents. Please note that it is mandatory to provide the document name and the document content to use this action.

Unsupported items: Sharing the document with someone.

Create a Document from Template

Description: Used to create a fresh document using an existing template by replacing all instances of a particular placeholder with the provided value. For example, the placeholder {{Name}}, here all instances of 'Name' in the doc will be replaced by the value provided in the bot. The placeholders will appear as input fields after you select a template in this action. Also, you may optionally specify the folder in which the Bot will add the new documents. Please find below a video tutorial on how to use this action.

Unsupported items: If no values are provided for a placeholder, they do not get replaced in the new document created.

Append Text to a Document

Description: Used to append/add new content to an existing document in your Google Docs/Drive. You would need to specify the document as well as the new content to be appended to the existing content.

Unsupported items: Does not remove the existing content, but adds the new one right after the existing content.

Search Documents

Description: Used to search/fetch the details of an existing document based on Document ID or name from your Google Docs/Drive. You may optionally specify the folder in which the Bot will look for existing documents. Also, the names are searched based on the partial match. For example, if you search for 'Foo' and the Document name contains 'FooBar', details of this Document will be returned. In case of multiple matches, the first match is returned
