Due to some API policy changes from Google, your Gmail Bots might stop working from January 1, 2020. But we have a solution. If you are a non G-Suite/personal Gmail user who uses Automate.io to send emails via Gmail, just edit your Bots and replace Gmail with our alternative app, ‘Send Email via Gmail’.
Note: If you are a Gsuite user, you need to whitelist Automate.io in your Gsuite Admin panel by December 31, 2019. Click here to know how to do that.
Who is a non-Gsuite/personal Gmail user?
A non-Gsuite/personal Gmail user is somebody who has @gmail.com in their email address. For example, if your email address is email@example.com, you are a non-Gsuite/personal Gmail user.
Now, say you have a Bot like this - ‘Welcome each new Facebook lead with an email on Gmail’. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open a Bot that uses Gmail.
Step 2: Click on the Gmail app and search for ‘Send Email via Gmail’ in the search box.
Step 3: Select the app and give it a name. Then, click Authorize.
Step 4: Now, choose any personal Gmail account from the list if you are already logged in to one. Or click Use another account and proceed to enter your login details.
Step 5: Give access to Automate.io by clicking Allow.
Step 6: Click Save.
Step 7: Now, select the Action, 'Send Email' and reconfigure your Bot by mapping the required fields. Then click Save.
Your Bots that use Gmail to send emails will now continue to run without any issues.
