Connecting Facebook Lead Ads to Automate.io

Before connecting Facebook Lead Ads to Automate.io, make sure that you are either:

  1. A Page Admin for the page you are using to collect leads or
  2. An Ad account advertiser or Ad account admin if you are using Facebook Business Manager.

Also, make sure to give all the permissions to the Automate.io App during this process.

This is to ensure that your bots run without any hassle.

Common issues with solutions

Here are some issues that you could encounter while working with Facebook Lead Ads.

Important: If you’ve changed the password of the Facebook account or the Business Manager account which runs your page, you should reconnect your Facebook Lead Ads app to Automate.io. To reconnect Facebook Lead Ads, do the following:

On Automate.io, go to Apps.

Come down to Facebook Lead Ads. You will see a Reconnect the app button on the top-right. Click on it.

Perform the steps that follow. Your app will be reconnected now.

I’m getting new leads on Facebook, but my bot is not being triggered.

If you are getting new leads on your Facebook Lead Ads but your bot isn’t being triggered, try the following solution.

Solution:
You need to fully disconnect Facebook Lead Ads from Automate.io and reconnect it. Follow the steps below.

Turn off all the bots that are using Facebook Lead Ads in your Automate.io bots list. Now, delete them.

Remove Facebook Lead Ads from your Automate.io account. On Automate.io, go to Apps.

Come down to Facebook Lead Ads. You will see a Delete the app button on the top-right. Click on it. The app will be removed.

Remove the Automate.io app from your Facebook page. Go to this link - https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools to do that.

Finally, re-add Facebook Lead Ads app to your Automate.io account.

I cannot find my page in the trigger.

Before proceeding, make sure that the following criteria are met.

  1. You are a Page Admin for the page you are using to collect leads or
  2. If you are using Facebook Business Manager you are an Ad account advertiser or Ad account admin
  3. The page that you want to work with is already created before you create your bot on Automate.io.

If you’ve met the criteria 1 and 3 or 2 and 3, try the following solutions.

Solution 1:

  1. In your bot’s trigger section, select the app Facebook Lead Ads and the trigger New Lead once again.
  2. Now, come down to the Input fields and select the page you want in the Page drop-down. You should see the required Facebook page now.

Solution 2:

If Solution 1 did not work for you, refer to the solution of the previous issue - ‘I’m getting new leads on Facebook, but my bot is not being triggered’.

I cannot find my form in the trigger.

Make sure that the lead ad form that you want to work with is already created before you create your bot on Automate.io.

Solution 1:

  1. In the trigger, select the app Facebook Lead Ads and the trigger New Lead once again.
  2. Now, come down to the Input fields and select the page in the Page drop-down and the form in the Form drop-down. You should see the required lead ad form now.

Solution 2:

If Solution 1 did not work for you, try reconnecting the app to Automate.io. You don’t need to turn your bot off for this. To reconnect Facebook Lead Ads, do the following:

On Automate.io, go to Apps.

Come down to Facebook Lead Ads. You will see a Reconnect the app button on the top-right. Click on it.

Perform the steps that follow. Your app will be reconnected now.

Limitations

If you are running a lead ad on Facebook, sometimes you would run the same ad on Instagram also. But, while you are collecting the leads on a spreadsheet, say Google Sheets, you won’t be able to separate which platform the leads came from.
