Using Dropbox Business with Automate.io
Now that the connection is successful, it’s time for the real fun—creating bots to automate your tasks. You will need to set up a trigger and action(s) to do that. To learn what these terms mean, check out our Automate.io terminology page.
You can integrate Dropbox Business with so many of your favorite apps—CRM, support, collaboration, payments, forms, etc.
Things to remember
For all the triggers and actions - when you enter the URL of the path in the Path field, you should exclude "dropbox.com/home" in the beginning of the URL. This field works with or without the "slash" (/) at the end of the path URL.
For the actions 'Search files' and 'Search folders', partial search works in the 'Search Query' field. This means that you need not type in the entire string when searching for a file or folder. The Bot will trigger even if you type in only a few keywords in the string.
In the 'Add a Text File' action, you can create a folder right there in the Path field. For example, if you want to add a text file in the path: 'Files/Folder 1' but have not created the folder 'Folder 1' yet in your Dropbox Business account, just type in the path as 'Files/Folder 1'. The Bot will create that folder and the text file will be added to the folder, 'Folder 1'.
All the triggers and actions only work for the Dropbox Business web app and not the desktop app.
